Primary Objectives
- Develop, execute, and drive team’s strategy in alignment with division strategic plan and goals.
- Responsible for meeting team’s sales goals through individual sales, team leadership, comprehensive sales resources, and cross-company collaboration.

- Communicate effectively and consistently related to initiatives, expectations, vision for the team in alignment with the division and company, and in a way that inspires the team and conveys possibility.
- Responsible for up to 35% of billable/client work in an engagement leader or account manager role focused on:
- Improved client retention and loyalty.
- Enhanced client satisfaction.
- Increased number of client referrals.
- Elevating perception of BWF services in marketplace.
- Make BWF a place our clients, and non-clients, want to be associated and partner with.
- Resolve client issues within team in timely and client-centric manner.
- Responsible for lead generation and sales for team leveraging cross-company resources and personal network.
- Accountable for developing and executing team level initiatives in alignment with division and company strategic plan.
- Continually identify opportunities to increase team sales and profitability (i.e., engagement expansion, increased engagement profitability, new services) working in conjunction with division leadership and marketing.
- Present company services within existing client relationships to find ways to help solve additional client issues.
- Nurture individual talent, while fostering team building, through a consistent cadence of communications, 1:1s and team meetings.
- Key role in delivering team’s onboarding in alignment with division and BWF’s onboarding program.
- Advocate for team member growth and provide clear regular and constructive performance feedback.
- Ensure team members are meeting performance and revenue goals, and address development needs.
- Represent the final decisions from leadership to their respective team.
- Resolve staff conflicts in a timely and effective manner with assistance of Human Resources.
- Lead and implement strategies to foster a diverse and inclusive workplace with partnership of Human Resources.
- Responsible and accountable for the Philanthropic Counsel team.
- Set the strategy and trajectory for ongoing development of existing and new services for the team in alignment with the division’s initiatives.
- Advance team growth through continual marketplace analysis to inform team’s strategies in alignment with market opportunities, competitive landscape, and return on investment (ROI).
- Other duties as assigned.
- 15+ years of progressive experience in higher education or healthcare fundraising.
- 10+ years successfully leading and managing teams, demonstrating the ability to inspire and motivate staff members to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
- 3+ years of experience providing consulting services to client institutions.
- Strong financial management skills, including budget planning, forecasting, and cost optimization as well as data driven decision making.
- Demonstrated experience in driving new business and developing growth strategies.
- Proven ability to think strategically and develop and implement long-term plans.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex concepts and information to diverse audiences.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Ability to support and implement organizational change in a high-growth environment.
- Preferred experience working in consultative capacity in a leadership role.
- Strong understanding of the philanthropic and nonprofit landscape and unique challenges faced by such organizations preferred.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex challenges into actionable strategies and solutions.
- Solid time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to exercise initiative, independent judgment, and accountability for various processes and projects is crucial.
- An optimistic and entrepreneurial approach, with a willingness to take calculated risks and drive continuous improvement.
- Experience in a high-performing sales environment preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- This position can be remote (within the continental United States) or based in our Minneapolis office (locally based employees are expected to maintain a hybrid office presence).
- Position requires ability to work in a stationary position for majority of workday.
- Continuous use of computer.
- Frequent communication with team and clients via zoom and in person.
- This is an exempt position that requires at least 40 hour of work per week but due to the nature of this role, additional hours are required when deadlines need to be met.
- Overnight travel to client sites, conferences or firm meetings is sometimes required (up to 40% of time).
